JAKARTA 19 Dis. – Sebuah stesen radio Indonesia hari ini melaporkan penduduk negara itu melihat sebuah objek yang tidak dikenali jatuh di barat Jakarta dan diikuti satu letupan yang kuat. Berpuluh-puluh orang yang menelefon radio ElShinta melihat objek putih yang bergerak laju di angkasa ke arah barat Jakarta dan ikuti dengan satu letupan pada pukul 7.30 pagi (8.30 pagi waktu Malaysia). Seorang pakar balai cerap astronomi Boscha di Bandung, Muji Raharto berkata, tiada laporan berhubung sebarang objek yang terhempas dan berdasarkan keterangan saksi, objek itu mungkin sebuah meteor. Bunyi letupan itu boleh didengari oleh penduduk dari barat Jakarta iaitu di Tanggerang, Depok sehingga Bogor yang terletak 60 kilometer dari selatan ibu kota Indonesia itu. Polis di Tanggerang berkata, mereka mempercayai objek itu mungkin telah mendarat kerana tiada laporan bahawa sebarang objek telah terhempas. Polis masih lagi menyiasat punca letupan berkenaan. Jurucakap Jabatan Kaji Cuaca di Tanggerang, Utin Nurdin berkata, tiada sebarang aktiviti seismos luar biasa dikesan di kawasan itu hari ini. Seorang pegawai di ibu pejabat jabatan itu di Jakarta juga memberikan kenyataan yang sama. – AFP
